Calvin loves going to play with his doggy friends. They take great care of him during the day. Calvin especially enjoys his “overnights” and gets excited when he sees his overnight bag.

Can’t say enough about your daycare, Alex. Minnie literally jumps out of my arms when the girl comes to pick her up. It’s a fight to get her little sweater on, we have to keep telling her,”Minnie don’t worry, she is going to wait for you. All your friends are going to wait.” It is really funny. We have been fortunate to have found the Dog Scoop for our Alaskan husky, Kodiak, to play and socialize with dogs of all shapes and sizes. The staff is friendly, caring and experienced and we can see how Kodiak feels right at home there – he is so active during the day running outside in the expansive fenced-in yard that when we pick him up in the evenings, he’s content and sleepy. The hours of the Dog Scoop are perfect for those who work in downtown Boston – 7 am to 7 pm and if we happen to be running 10 minutes late, Alex, Chris and the rest of the staff have been great in waiting for us to pick up our dog after we’ve given them a head’s up that we’d be late – most dog daycares close around 6 pm so for them to be open until 7 pm is awesome! We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the Dog Scoop and have a great peace of mind that our dog is in safe hands every morning that we drop him off.

We also take Kodiak there every month or so for grooming and they do a fantastic job! He does not like to take baths but when he is groomed at the Dog Scoop, his coat is shiny, he smells great, his nails are clipped, teeth brushed, ears cleaned and the staff fasten a color bandana – we couldn’t be more happier!

We would HIGHLY recommend the Dog Scoop for daycare, grooming, overnights and any of their other services – it’s a FUN place for your 4-legged loved one!

Thanks to all of you for helping to socialize Henry the red tick coonhound. Henry has been adopted! His time at the Dog Scoop played a part in modifying his behavior to the point where he could be adopted. He is now in central Massachusetts and in September his family is moving to Utah. I am just writing to say thank you for taking a “problem” dog like Henry. His socialization is making great progress. He has made friends with several neighborhood dogs that he used to bark at and even when he does start barking at another dog it is much easier to calm him down. And although Zico was well behaved before, we find him even better behaved now, approaching strange dogs less rambunctiously – Aviv

Alex (and The Dog Scoop team), I treasure the high quality care you provide. Especially in the past few months as Blazer was slowing down with his medical problem, I knew that he was in good hands with your crew. He was a trooper to the very end, as you can see from the picture of him paddling in the Kayak with me a few days before he died. He loved life and everybody he ever met. He was just called home before his time.

I know Tyler didn’t attend the Dog Scoop very long, but I do know he loved it and all of you. He was so happy to go to school in the morning and just so exhausted (in a good way) when he got home. I can’t thank you enough for making his last few months so wonderful. The move could have been so hard for him but once he discovered all of you it was wonderful. I wanted to let you know how happy I’ve been with the DogScoop. Your operation is one of the best run businesses that I have ever dealt with & I have appreciated your patience with the frequent schedule changes I have had to make over the past year in particular. Dover has obviously loved coming to daycare and I think it has been really been good for him. My dog doesn’t do so well in a crated enviroment, so I was really relieved to find a doggy daycare that doesn’t crate. They let the dogs run around all day. They also have heated sections in the winter and air conditioning and wading pools for the dogs in the summer. And all the people that work there have a ton of formal training experience. I can tell when I go there that the dogs have tons of respect for the workers there and behave amazingly well. (My dog is MUCH more obedient at daycare than he is with me!) We have also used the dog trainer there for private lessons and the grooming is amazing. You can bulk purchase days as well for less $. I would absolutely recommend them. As a matter of fact, we have moved so it is less convenient, but I love knowing my dog is getting the best care and having fun as well. – Laurie

I want to say thank you for taking care of our puppy, Maple this week. We were referred to you from some friends and were a little nervous as we were traveling from Vermont. When we arrived, your staff was excellent and answered our exhausting list of questions (sorry, first dog owners). Your business is one of the finest and our puppy had a great time there for the day. We are very particular about who cares for our dog, and are pleased to have discovered Alex and his dedicated staff. Our 8-pound Maltese, Auggie, has had pick-up/ drop-off day care, and walks at home. They are dependable, and the place is VERY clean. Auggie comes home clean, calm (exercised) and happy. – Auggie

The Dog Scoop is the most wonderful place to take our beloved little lab. We searched for a playgroup or service and The Dog Scoop had everything we were looking for. Alex the owner is terrific, and also a certified trainer and very hands on, the place is impeccably clean.

The Dog Scoop has been taking care of our 3 dogs for some time now and we have been absolutely thrilled with their services. We have the dogs walked once or twice a day and they are always reliable. Our dogs adore them. We have 2 bernese mountain dogs and 1 chihuahua. The chihuahua goes to small dog daycare one or two days a week. He is always exhausted when he comes home! We have also taken advantage of one of their training sessions – with great results. They care a great deal about dogs – and it shows. We have our 2 berners groomed about once a month by Allison – they always come back beautiful! She is kind and gentle and puts a great deal of effort into making dogs comfortable. Alex is wonderful – he really knows dogs and understands their behavior.
Again – I HIGHLY recommend them for walks, daycare, grooming, and training. They are professional and fun!! – Bailey, Pepe and Riley

I can tell you that Rex likes to be there. He knows he has to go do his business before he comes in. Then he pulls at the leash when we are close to the door. I am glad that we have a great place to leave Rex during the day and know that he is safe and happy. – Claudina

Hi Alex, Chris, Jason and Ian. First I want to say thank you so much for opening up such a wonderful establishment. There are so many great things about the Dogscoop! First, your daycare is so clean! I don’t know how you do it, but every time I drop Newton off or pick him up, it is spotless! There is no funky smell and I swear, it looks like I could eat off of the floor! I love how you provide supervision 100% of the time. I never worry about Newton’s safety. I know someone is always downstairs watching the dogs! Finally, I love how Newton has formed his own social network. We see dogs at the dog park that go to the Dogscoop and he runs over to them to say “hello”, well, actually he runs over and rolls on his back, but I think he is saying hello! Anyway, I hope I never have to move because I don’t think I would ever find a place as great as the Dogscoop! Love you guys!!!! – Kimberly

So far Bogey has been to his “new daycare”- He gets picked up 11 ish, goes to a play group for an hour and a half and comes home. All in all it is about a three hours round trip for 15 dollars a day. I am grateful that we found something, but its no DOGSCOOP! He doesn’t seem as tired at the end of the day like he was in your care. You guys were the best. – Stephanie

I love them! When they walk my dog, they leave a note telling me how things were with my dog that day. I use them for day care, grooming, pick up and drop off as well. Each time I call and schedule something they are absolutely accommodating and the price is reasonable. I would highly recommend them to anyone. – Sheila

We are forever grateful to you for making the quality of Whiskey’s final year and a half so good! Hi Chris and Alex, I was hoping you could pass along a special thanks to the dog walker Linda. Scout has been giving most of the dog walkers a really tough time with going for a walk (she basically “shuts down” on our back stairs or in the driveway). Linda is the only one that is able to coax her down the driveway, and I just wanted to let her know how much we appreciate it. I just wanted to provide some feedback regarding our recent grooming experience at The DogScoop. Jazmine recieved the full works grooming treatment and the job that you did was absolutely fantastic! She has never had a groom that included such an acute attention to detail. Her hair is so clean and soft, smells great and she looks wonderful. So many people have commented on how great she looks and we have told them all where they should go to get the same treatment for their pups. Hi Allison, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the pictures of Barney playing. You are the BEST!!!… I just forwarded them to Laurie. It seems he is getting better. The other day, I must of played with him in the backyard for about 40 minutes. Throwing the ball and him running and chasing after it. I almost had him come to me after getting the ball. (now that would of been great), but again…almost. What is strange is he does this early in the morning and then after that he is a dud all day, I don’t know why? He won’t do anything? When we walk him he is now VERY GOOD thanks to Jason…(who is a GOD to us). The only thing is that usually when he is playful its (I am not lying) 2am or 5am (a bit early in the morning). Well I guess you have to take the GOOD with the bad. Thank you again for spending the time with him (actually all of you). You have no idea how much this means to us. – Jeff

I have to tell you how great the ‘boys’ looked after their recent groom. So much fur was removed, that they actually looked smaller. It was much needed, but I never can get them to stand for that long (and my hands get sore). They looked so wonderfully soft and smooth, they haven’t looked so good for years.
