*Please Note: All dogs MUST spend at least three (3) full days in Daycare in order to access our Overnight facility.*
Dogs who board at The Dog Scoop spend the night in our comfortable and spacious boarding building, where they are watched, fed, and let outside for breaks. Boarding dogs sleep on blankets or beds – or wherever they like!
Our overnight program is staffed at all hours; at The Dog Scoop, your dog will never be left alone. Our overnight staff members remain with the dogs all night and all day on weekends, when daycare is closed.

IMPORTANT HEALTH & SAFETY NOTICE
Dogs with contagious diseases or parasites are not allowed at the Dog Scoop. We are happy to provide care for injured dogs or those with special medical or health needs, but for the safety and health of other dogs at the Scoop, we cannot accommodate dogs with contagious disease or parasites.
Common diseases or parasites include, but are not limited to: bordatella (kennel cough), conjunctivitus, and intestinal parasites/worms. Symptoms of disease include: coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, discharge from the eyes, nose, mouth, and/or visible parasites in the stool.
If a dog shows signs of illness or parasites while in our care, we will isolate him from the other dogs and the owner will be asked to bring him to the vet for a check up. The dog is welcome to come back to the Scoop only after the vet declares he or she healthy.
If a dog arrives at the Scoop showing signs of disease or parasites, or if a dog is actively being treated for disease or parasites, the dog is not allowed to stay at the Scoop. This is for the health and safety of your dog and the other dogs at the Scoop. Please call our office at 617-244-8944 for more information about this policy.
SCHEDULING
If you are a current client of the The Dog Scoop, just stop by or call our main office to schedule boarding for your dog.
If you are a new client, you must first schedule your dog for an introductory day of daycare, and complete 3 full days of daycare before scheduling an overnight visit. Please be advised that we book appointments for new clients far in advance and cannot accommodate last minute requests for boarding. This procedure is designed to assure you that your pup will do well in our pack setting, which is important because our boarding dogs spend their days in the main daycare building with a much larger pack.
PRE-REGISTRATION
Click HERE to download a PDF of our Boarding PreRegistration Form.
Click HERE to download a PDF of our Food and Medication Form.
Before your dog arrives to board, you will need to fill out the “Boarding PreRegistration” and “Feeding/Medication” forms. We use these forms to be sure we have your update-to-date contact information, know about any pertinent medical issues, determine emergency contacts during boarding, and to learn all specifics related to food and medication for your dog so that we can be sure he or she gets the correct food and medications at the right times.
WHAT TO BRING UPON ARRIVAL
When you drop off your dog for boarding, please bring your dog’s leash, food, and medication. Be sure that you have returned the PreRegistration Form and Food and Medication Form prior to arrival. We highly recommend that you supply The Dog Scoop with extra food and medication in the event that your dog’s stay is extended for any unexpected reason. All medications should be dropped off in their original containers to assure proper dosage and administration.
The Dog Scoop will provide bowls for meals and plenty of beds and couches for sleeping. We discourage our clients from bringing toys and other “personal” possessions, as they risk getting soiled, ripped, or broken during boarding.
We ask that your dog arrives for boarding wearing a collar with a flat buckle. We remove choke chains, pinch collars, and collars without a buckle because of the potential for these types of collars to lead to injury while dogs are playing.
